At their helm, some countries have heroes and oter have people doing their job. The former are going on a path towards solidifying heroes’ glory, and the latter are developed to respond to people needs and to follow the welbeing.

One of the best projects of the last few years that can be seen right before my eyes is the constructing of new routes for cyclists and pedestrians. Away from other traffic, away from motor vehicles, which makes a big difference. Being away from noise makes it a much more pleasant experience; being away from traffic makes it a lot safer; and safer means there are children and families going on trips and having a good time. Definitely a positive deed. An act of governmental servitude.

In an optimal motivational climate, social comparison (comparing yourself to others) is actually absent. Best athletes should be able to work in their own line and aspire to be the best as they can be.
This is from research field of motivational climate. Comparison brings results, but it also brings unwanted byproducts. It works on grounds of pressure. Now, watch at this commercial ad from Salomon that promotes a more healthy and sustainable way – a way of optimal motivational climate.

If you have a chance to make your own decisions, that is where personal development happens. You can see how your ideas pain out, you can work on them and polish them, make them better, and you grow. You are included, you are an equal part, and you are appreciated. That is what new leadership paradigm is about.

In sport practice you will still see coaches working within the traditional thinking model. But there are others, like Pep Guardiola, Stefano Lavarini, or Thorir Hergeirsson (on the three attached pictures) that take up a very different approach. Give them information to support their decision making. Players need to trust themselves and their own thinking to be good players. That is the sort of thinking that guides those new paradigm coaches.

To my mind, significance / role of sport is inspiration. It is full of stories about realising human potential (to the fullest). Physical, psychological, and potentials of collaboration. But for sport to really fulfil that role, narration counts for a lot. Where did a certain success come from? What can it be attributed to?

Sport is a big deal. Many people follow events, and many people look into it for guides for their life. Providing coverage and mouthing this narration and attribution is therefore a big responsibility. For me, Eurosport is one provider, that responds to that responsibility as it strives towards expertise and quality in narration of sport events that we can follow on their channels.

Every culture has something to give. Every culture has some lessons gathered from its story; ready to be shown and shared with the world. From saturation with products of American movie production (and a one-sided view of life) to diversity and receiving messages from many different cultures around the globe. For me, that is what appearance of Netflix movie platform is about.

Was my personal experience a coincidence? See what Netflix company emphasises as one of their key guides: We want more people and cultures to see themselves reflected on screen – so it’s important that our employees are as diverse as the communities we serve.
